The Gurmukh is perfect - applaud him!
ਰੂੜੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥

Through the beautiful Word of the Guru's Bani, the Lord is obtained; contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

aap ga-i-aa dukh kati-aa har var paa-i-aa naar. ||47||
Self-conceit is eliminated, and pain is eradicated; the soul bride obtains her Husband Lord. ||47||

In plain words

The dear One is beautiful — there is no other ruler but it.

Listen to this charm, this healing word, and the One comes to live in your mind.

By the Guru's grace the One is found — so don't let doubt lead you astray.

The one who holds the wealth of the One as savings is the true banker; the one turned toward the Guru is perfect — well done!

Through the beautiful Bani of the Guru the One is found; think on the Guru's Word.

When the grasping self falls away, the ache is cut clean, and the soul meets its Beloved.

Let the healing Word settle in, and the One comes to live in your mind.
The deeper layer

The letter Rharha: roorhaa means beautiful. Gaarurh — the snake-charmer's healing charm — is the healing Word that draws the One into the mind. So saahu saachaa jis har dhan raas — the wealthy who count are those who hold the One's wealth. Aap gaiaa — the self falls away, and union follows.

A Question to Sit With

What words, said quietly, help settle your mind?
