Keep Walking in Love Even When You Can't See the Path

ਙੰਙਾ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਸਨੇਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਰਵਾਰੋ ਸੰਦੇਹ ॥
nyanyaa nigrahi sanayhu kar nirvaaro sandayh.
NGANGA: Restrain yourself, love the Lord, and dismiss your doubts.
ਨਾਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਭਾਜੀਐ ਪਰਮ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਏਹ ॥੧੧॥
naahee daykh na bhaajee-ai param si-aanap ayh. ||11||
Even if you do not see the Path, do not run away; this is the highest wisdom. ||11||

In plain words

**Ng** — steady yourself, love the One, and let your doubts quietly settle and clear.

And here's the wise part: even when you can't yet see the path ahead, don't turn and run. Keep walking with love. Staying, when you can't see, and trusting anyway — that is the highest wisdom there is.

Steady yourself, love the One, and keep walking even when you can't yet see the path — that's the highest wisdom.
The deeper layer

This short couplet uses the tricky letter Nganga. Its three-part instruction is compact: nigrahi (self-restraint, gathering yourself in), sanayhu (love), and nirvaaro sandayh (dismiss doubt). Then the heart of it: naahee daykh na bhaajee-ai — even when the path is invisible, don't flee — param si-aanap ayh, this is the supreme wisdom. Kabir prizes steadfastness over certainty. You will not always see the whole way; the wisdom is not in seeing everything but in not running when you can't. It resonates with Mannai — living from an inner alignment that holds even before the road is clear.

A Question to Sit With

When have you had to keep going even though you couldn't see how things would turn out? What kept you moving?
