By Your Grace, Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises; meditating, meditating, he humbly bows to God. ||4||36||

In plain words

The One is deep, profound, and endless, without limit.

By Your grace, Nanak sings Your praises; meditating and meditating, he humbly bows.

Before something limitless, the right response is not to measure it but to bow.
The deeper layer

The One is too big to measure. So Guru Arjan does not measure. He sings and bows.

Gahir gambheer bi-ant gusaa-ee — the Master of the world is deep, deeper, and without end. There is no far shore to reach.

Standing at the edge of the ocean, you do not try to count the waves. You just look and feel small in a good way. That is how the verse ends. Tumhree kirpaa tay gun gaavai naanak — by Your kindness, Nanak sings Your praises. Then he bows. Before the endless One, praise fits better than figuring out.

A Question to Sit With

What is so vast that all you can do before it is bow in wonder?
