He surrenders his mind and body, and places them before the Guru; thus, he obtains the true wealth. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
He joins the company of the holy and washes their feet; he rubs the dust of the Saints on his body.
He surrenders his mind and body before the Guru, and so gains the true wealth.
The true dance ends not in applause but in laying yourself down before what is holy.
The true dancer's humility: joining the Sangat, "washing their feet," applying "the dust of the Saints" (cf. Shabad 116). And the decisive act: "he surrenders his mind and body... before the Guru," and only by that surrender "obtains the true wealth." The dance ends in self-offering.
A Question to Sit With
What does it mean to truly offer yourself to something greater?
