I want to learn the good ways of good people — how they live, how they serve, how they treat others.
I even want to serve those who serve them.
This one says goodness is learned the way an apprentice learns a craft.
Ravi Daas goes deeper in his prayer. He wants more than to be near the good-hearted. He wants to learn their ways: their character, the way they live, and even the service of those who serve them.
He wants to soak up how they live: their kindness, their humility, their way of helping others. And he is so humble that he would gladly serve even their helpers.
This is how you actually become good. You do not just admire good people from far away. You study how they live and copy it, happily taking the humblest job. Think of a young cook watching a grandparent in the kitchen, then trying the same moves. Find people who live well. Watch closely how they do it. Copy their kindness. Goodness is learned by staying close and copying.
Whose good ways would you most want to watch closely and learn to copy?
