This is Nanak's prayer to God.
The fish stays in its water by one thing — chanting the Name, night and day.
The close: continual remembrance — "night and day, I chant the Naam, the treasure of excellence" — offered as "Nanak's prayer." The whole shabad of dependence (fish in water, servant of the Creator) resolves into the one practice that keeps the soul in its element: chanting the Name.
