The Wealth Held in the Heart Slips Death's Noose

bhaagath sachaa so-ay hai jis har Dhan antar.
How very fortunate are those who have the wealth of the Lord deep within the heart.
so chhootai mahaa jaal tay jis gur sabad nirantar. ||2||
They escape from the great noose of death; they are permeated with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

How fortunate are those who hold the wealth of the Lord deep in the heart;

they escape the great noose of death, permeated with the Word.

The wealth held deep in the heart is also what slips the noose of death.
The deeper layer

The "wealth of the Lord" held "deep within the heart" lets the soul "escape from the great noose of death." The inner wealth is also the soul's protection — saturated with the Word, death's noose cannot hold it.

A Question to Sit With

What inner wealth would you most want to carry deep in your heart?
