Hearing How the Humble Found the One Inspires You

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਜਾਟਰੋ ਉਠਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
ih biDh sun kai jaatro uth bhagtee laagaa.
Hearing this, Dhanna the Jaat applied himself to devotional worship.
ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਖਿ ਗੁਸਾਈਆ ਧੰਨਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
milay partakh gusaa-ee-aa Dhannaa vadbhaagaa. ||4||2||
The Lord of the Universe met him personally; Dhanna was so very blessed. ||4||2||

In plain words

And Dhanna the farmer, hearing about all these humble, beloved saints, gave his own heart to the One —

and the One met him face to face. How blessed he was!

Hearing how ordinary, humble people found the One can inspire you to turn your own heart the same way — the door is open to all.
The deeper layer

Dhanna, a farmer, heard how these humble saints found the One, and it moved him to try.

Ih biDh sun kai jaatro uth bhagtee laagaa — hearing this, Dhanna the Jaat got up and gave himself to devotion. The Jaats were a farming people. And milay partakh gusaa-ee-aa — the Master of the world met him face to face. How blessed he was.

Look at how Dhanna came to the One. He heard stories of others who had done it, and he was inspired. The good people who went before drew him in. Think of a kid who watches an older cousin learn to ride a bike, and then says, "I can do that too."

These stories are not only history. They are an invitation. The door that opened for a printer, a weaver, a cobbler, a barber, and a farmer is open for everyone who hears and turns.

A Question to Sit With

How might hearing about good people who found the One inspire you to turn your own heart toward it?
