Bestowing His Name, the True Guru removes the evil omens. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Peace, celestial poise, and absolute bliss come from singing the One's praises.

Bestowing His Name, the true Guru removes the evil omens.

The Name frees you from living under the rule of lucky and unlucky signs.
The deeper layer

Singing praise yields "peace, celestial poise and absolute bliss" — and the Name "removes the evil omens." The Name dissolves superstition: the soul anchored in the One no longer lives under the rule of lucky and unlucky signs (cf. Baarah Maaha, grace not the calendar).

A Question to Sit With

What superstitions or omens do people let run their lives?
