Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O blind one, meditate on the One, your King.

Your day is drawing near.

Your day is drawing near — the time to turn toward what matters is now.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the shabad. It is urgent: the time to turn is now.

"O blind one, meditate on the Lord, your King. Your day is drawing near." Blind here means not seeing what matters.

Think of the last few minutes before a test is collected. There is still time, but not forever. The end is coming closer. So turn toward the One now, while there is still time. It is urgency, said plainly.

A Question to Sit With

If your day were drawing near, what would you do today?
