Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O Beloved, whatever Your devotees ask, You do; this is Your way, Your very nature.

With palms pressed together, Nanak begs this gift: Lord, bless Your Saints with Your Vision.

It is the One's very nature to give what the devotees ask.
The deeper layer

The One's nature is to fulfill the devotees' asking — "this is Your Way, Your very nature." Generosity is not an occasional mood but what the One is. And Nanak's request is selfless: not for himself, but "bless Your Saints with Your Vision".

A Question to Sit With

What would you ask for, if you asked on behalf of others rather than yourself?
