Those attached to the poison of greed and sin grab at others' wealth, and only bring pain on themselves.
Intoxicated by pride in things that will be destroyed in an instant, those fools do not understand.
This one says that grabbing what isn't yours only ends up hurting you.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad. Lobh means greed. Greed makes people grab at what belongs to others. Hir vit chit dukhaahee — they take other people's things, and the pain comes back to them.
They are also proud of things that can vanish in an instant. Khin bhangunaa means "broken in a moment."
Think of building a tall sandcastle right at the water's edge and bragging about it. One wave and it is gone. The greedy person builds their pride on something that is already washing away.
