In plain words

There is no other door for me. Where else would I go to worship?

You are my only Lord, and Your True Name is in my mouth.

A thousand doors invite the seeker — the finder knows there was only ever one.
The deeper layer

There are many doors in the world, but the one who has found the One knows there is only one door.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Dar beebhaa mai neemiH — there is no other door for me. Hiko maidaa too Dhanee — You alone are my Master. Saachaa mukh naam — Your true Name is on my lips.

Think of a street full of shops, each with its own bell and sign. Every one calls out, "Come in here!" The seeker has stopped shopping around. This is not being narrow. It is arriving. The long search in all four directions ended here. Next, the shabad walks past the other doors one by one. It shows why each, entered without the One, just leads to more wandering.

A Question to Sit With

What are the doors you knock on when you need help or meaning — and which one actually opens?
