In plain words

So offer your mind — and surrender your head along with it.

The Gurmukh realizes the true essence and finds the home of his own being.

Hand over the mind and the head — and receive, of all things, yourself.
The deeper layer

Give the One your mind and your head, and you get back your own true self.

The verse names the price plainly. Offer your mind, your thinking. Offer your head too, your pride. The mind steers from inside. The head is like a crown on the outside.

This is Gurbani's language for giving yourself fully. Gurbani means the Guru's words. Guru Nanak says it elsewhere: to play the game of love, come with your head on your palm.

Then comes the surprise that follows every real letting go. The one who gives everything gets himself back. The Gurmukh, the one who faces the Guru, finds nij ghar, the home of his own self. Think of a big hat pulled down over your eyes. Take it off and you can finally see the way home. The pride handed over was what blocked the door.

A Question to Sit With

What would it mean to offer your mind — to let something wiser than your pride do the steering?
