In plain words

Those dyed in the True One are spotless — their good name endures forever.

Here, they are known in home after home; hereafter, they shine through all the ages.

Fame is the shadow of the color — tend the dye, and the shadow follows on its own.
The deeper layer

A good name comes by itself when your heart is colored by the One.

Guru Amar Das uses the picture of dyeing cloth. Sachay ratay say nirmalay — those dyed in the True One are spotless. Sadaa sachee so-ay — their good name stays true forever.

The world's fame is often bought, managed, and quick to fade. This good name is different. It just happens. Neighbors notice the goodness, home after home. Time does not wash it out. Aagai jug jug pargat ho-ay — it shines age after age. The Gurus and saints never ran campaigns to be remembered. Centuries later, their names still open hearts. Think of a shadow. You do not chase your shadow. You just walk, and it follows. A good name is the shadow of the dye. Take care of the color, and the name takes care of itself.

A Question to Sit With

Whose goodness do you still remember though they never once advertised it?
