Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The happy brides have found the Mansion of His Presence — the self dismissed from within.
Adorned with the Guru's Word, their Beloved has united them with Himself.
The happy brides wear only one ornament, the Word, and the Beloved brings them close.
This bright picture answers the sad one, point by point. The lonely bride decorated the outside and burned within. The happy brides wear one ornament: gur sabdee seegaaree-aa, adorned with the Guru's Word. The fire is not even mentioned, because it has gone out.
How do they get there? The same secret these hymns keep sharing: vichahu aap gavaa-ay — they send the self away from within. The Mansion of His Presence is found the moment its one blocker leaves. Think of a doorway blocked by a big box. Move the box, and you can walk right in.
And the last action belongs, as always, to the Beloved: seh la-ee-aa milaa-ay — He took them and united them with Himself. The bride gets ready. The union is His act.
Of everything you could develop in yourself, what would make you truly beautiful in the oldest sense?
