O wandering soul, so far from home — why keep getting tangled up? The One you're looking for is right inside you.
Think of the fish, happy in the water until the net comes. The shine of the world tastes sweet, but the spell always breaks. So turn toward the One, and let your worries fall away.
The third fable is the fish pulled from the water 'with tearful eyes' when the net is cast — the creature caught off guard by what looked safe. And the verse names its listener tenderly: man pardaysee — O stranger soul, so far from your true home. The warning and the comfort arrive together: yes, the world's sweetness is a net that eventually pulls tight — but the One you need isn't far away to be chased; the True Lord abides within your mind. So the cure for the anxiety of being caught is simply to turn inward and let the worry fall away. The fable frightens for only a moment before it points you home.
What helps you feel less tangled up and anxious when life gets overwhelming?
