Countless wise and holy people, across all the world's stories, are searching for the One.
Every kind of practice and prayer reaches for it — and even the forests, the grass, the animals and birds are quietly seeking it too.
Says Nanak: the kind and loving One is found by joining good and holy people, and there one is set free.
The whole living world leans toward the same Source.
This Chhant, a song-poem, becomes a long list of everyone who is searching for the One. Countless wise and quiet sages. Millions of great beings. Every way people have found to seek: chanting, deep meditation, strict self-control, worship, and journeys to holy places. All of it is one big search.
Then the list grows gentle. Maanukh ban tin pasoo pankhee — people, forests, blades of grass, animals and birds all remember You. Not only people. Every creature, every leaf. Think of sunflowers in a field, all turning toward the sun. You are part of that huge, shared longing.
And the song says where the One is found. It is simple: saadhsangat, the company of good and holy people.
If even the grass and the birds are reaching for something greater, what does that tell you?
