Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The stars, the moon, the sun, the earth and sky — all of it is singing to the One.
Every language, every old holy book, is reaching for the same Source — the one who makes the lost clean again and loves the good-hearted.
Says Nanak: that One is met in the company of the Saints.
The whole universe is one big choir, singing to the One.
The picture grows as big as it can. Nakhi-atar sasee-ar soor — the stars, the moon and the sun remember the One. Basudh gagnaa gaav-ay — the earth and the sky sing. Wind and water join in, day and night.
Think of a stadium where everyone sings the same song together. Here the singers are all of nature. Sagal banee — every language sings it too. And the old holy books of India, the Vedas, Puraanas, Simritees and Shaastras, all reach for the same One.
Notice how wide this is. No single language owns the One. No single book holds all of the One. The One belongs to everything. Then the verse ends with kindness: the One makes the fallen clean again, patit paavan, and loves those who love Him. And the One is met in a simple place: among good and holy people. The biggest search in the universe ends at the nearest, humblest door.
How does it feel to imagine the stars, the sun, and the earth all singing to the same One?
