Narada the wise sage, and Sharada, goddess of learning, serve the One.
Lakshmi, goddess of wealth, sits close beside the One as a servant.
This one says that everything people see as mighty turns toward the One Source.
Naarad saarad karahi khavaasee means "Narada and Sharada serve." In the old Hindu stories, Narada is a great wise sage who travels singing. Sharada is the goddess of knowledge and learning. Paas baithee beebee kavlaa daasee means "Kavla sits close by as a helper." Kavla is another name for Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
Kabir is not making fun of these figures. He is using them to say something big. Whatever anyone sees as powerful or holy, even that turns toward the One.
Think of all the rivers on a map, big and small. They look different, but every one of them flows to the sea. Wisdom, learning, and wealth all come from, and bow to, one Source. There is one Source behind every story.
If even the mightiest figures in the old stories bow to one Source, what does that tell you about the One?
