In plain words

Just love and serve the One.

Serving the Guru with love is the real bath.

The real 'cleansing bath' isn't soap and water — it's a heart that loves and serves.
The deeper layer

This one names the real bath that cleans the heart.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It is the center of the shabad. poojahu raam ayk hee dayvaa — worship only the One. saachaa naavan gur kee sayvaa — the true bath is serving the Guru.

If water cannot clean the heart, what can? Loving service. It means turning toward the One and helping with a humble, giving heart.

This is not something you do once at a holy place. It is a way of living, day after day. Think of the good feeling after helping a neighbor carry heavy bags. Kindness and service wash you cleaner than any river.

A Question to Sit With

How might helping and loving others 'clean' something inside you?
