In plain words

Those the One has blended into Himself — their high state is beyond all describing.

The perfect true Guru has given them the greatest honor of all,

and I am lost, gladly, in the One's Name.

The deepest union is beyond words — you don't describe it, you disappear into it.
The deeper layer

Guru Amar Das is saying: the deepest union with the One is beyond words, and you gladly disappear into it.

Some people the One blends into Himself. Their high, deep state kahee na jaa-ay — cannot be described. Gurbani uses words so richly, yet here even words reach their limit.

Think of trying to describe the taste of a mango to someone who has never had one. You can talk and talk, but they only know when they taste it.

The Perfect Guru gives this honor, ootam padvee, the highest place of all. It is the only honor that counts. And Guru Amar Das places himself among those gladly lost in the Name, not among those who describe it from outside.

A Question to Sit With

What is something so deep that words can only point at it, never hold it?
