The True Guru has revealed to me the Name of the Lord; without the Lord, I cannot live, for a moment, even an instant. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Night and day I sing the praises of the Name.

The True Guru has revealed the Name to me; without the One, I cannot live for a moment, not even an instant.

Once it has truly been revealed to you, you cannot do without it for even a breath.
The deeper layer

Once the Guru has shown you the Name, you can't do without it for even a breath.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad, and here it comes first. Ha-o an-din har naam keertan kara-o — night and day I sing the Name's praises. Keertan means singing the One's praises.

The Name was bataa-i-aa, shown, by the Guru. It wasn't figured out alone. And once it is shown, it becomes as needed as breathing. Other shabads in this raag say the same. Think of someone who drinks clean water after a long thirst. They can't go back to not needing it.

A Question to Sit With

What has someone revealed to you that you could never go back to being without?
