In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Meet with good, kind people and sing about what's good together.

The weight of countless old hurts and mistakes just lifts away.

Meeting kind people and singing about the good together lifts away the weight of old hurts.
The deeper layer

The one shabad in Bairaaree by Guru Arjan (Mehl 5), which closes the raag. Its rahao: "Meeting with the humble Saints, sing the Praises of the Lord; the pains of millions of incarnations shall be eradicated." The memento mori is rendered gently — good company and shared joy lift away the weight of old hurts. For a child: meeting kind people and singing about the good together lifts away the weight of old hurts.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt lighter after being with kind people?
