chanting and meditating, you shall live in supreme bliss. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Peace, natural ease, deep delight, the greatest gladness — all of it arrives. Keeping the One in mind over and over, I truly come alive in a joy beyond joy.

Remembering the One, a gladness beyond ordinary gladness comes alive in you.
The deeper layer

This one says that remembering the One brings joy upon joy.

Here is a list of good things that arrive: sookh (peace), sahj (natural ease), ras (delight), and mahaa anandaa (the greatest gladness). Lists of gifts like this come up again and again in these shabads.

Jap jap jeevay parmaanandaa — remembering and remembering, you live in the highest joy. The shabad next door has this same line. That is on purpose. Guru Arjan teaches one thing in many ways, so it can sink in.

It is like a song your family sings at every birthday. Hearing it again and again is how it becomes part of you.

A Question to Sit With

What is the most alive you have ever felt — and what were you doing?
