There is only the One Word of the Shabad; everything else shall pass away. Let this be the fruits and roots of your mind's diet. ||1||Pause||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
This is how you actually find the path. There is only the One Word -- everything else fades away. Let that be the food your mind lives on, the fruits and roots of your diet.
The one thing that never fades is the Word -- let your mind feed on that.
The Rahao. True union is found through the Shabad alone -- the only thing that does not pass away. The Yogi's forest diet of fruits and roots is reinterpreted: let the Word be what your mind actually feeds on.
A Question to Sit With
What does your mind "feed on" most? Does it leave you nourished or restless?
