In plain words

I have let go of my restless wanting — truly let it go. Meeting the teaching, I released it. And ever since I gave myself to the flow of the One, every kind of peace and joy and gladness has come flooding in.

Letting go of restless wanting isn't losing — it's what lets joy come flooding in.
The deeper layer

Letting go of restless wanting is not a loss. It is what lets joy flood in.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Bhaavan ti-aagi-o — I let go of my wants. Bhaavan means wishes, cravings. This is not a grim giving-up. It is a happy release from the endless wanting that kept peace out.

Then the reward: sarab sukh aanand mangal, every peace, joy, and gladness. It flows in the moment one gives oneself to gobindai aagi-o, the will of the One. Gobind is a name for the Lord of the whole world. Moving with the One's flow, the hukam, is not obeying a rule. It is finally swimming with the river instead of against it.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you've been chasing that might feel lighter to simply let go of?
