In plain words

The teaching is the all-filling One. It is the merciful Giver, the true Maker of everything.

When it grew glad toward me, I received all that I could ever need. My heart is forever a joyful offering to it.

When the teaching grows glad toward you, you already have everything you truly need.
The deeper layer

This one praises the Guru as one with the One.

Gur naaraa-in da-yu gur gur sachaa sirjanhaar — the Guru is the all-filling Lord, the kind Master, the true Creator. In Sikh understanding, the Guru is not a person to be worshipped. The Guru is the doorway through which the One reaches us. Think of a window that lets sunlight into a room. Praising the light in the window is praising the sun. So praising the teaching is praising the Source.

Gur tuthai sabh kichh paa-i-aa — when the Guru was pleased, I received everything. This is grace as glad giving. And sad balihaar means "forever an offering." It is the whole heart poured out in thanks.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to realize you already have what you truly need?
