In plain words

"O One, pour Your mercy over me and hold me safe. Bring me into the company of good and true hearts, so that the wonder of the One takes root in me and I treasure it deep inside."

"Hold me safe, and set me among good hearts, so the wonder of the One takes root in me."
The deeper layer

This is a prayer for good company and a treasure in the heart.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line at the center of the shabad, and it is a prayer. Har har raakho kirpaa Dhaar — O One, pour down Your mercy and keep me safe. It is a heart asking to be held.

Satsangat maylaa-ay parabh — O God, bring me into the satsangat, the company of true-hearted people. Good company keeps a heart pointed the right way. It is like a team that keeps you showing up to practice.

Har hirdai har gun saar — so that I may treasure the One's goodness in my heart. Saar means to gather and keep something precious. The whole prayer asks for two things: good company, and a treasure inside. Together they are the cure for the turning away in the verse before.

A Question to Sit With

How do the people you spend time with shape the kind of person you're becoming?
