O camel-like mind, meditate on the True Guru, the Primal Being. ||1||Pause||

O camel-like mind — you who roam so far — rest your thoughts on the true teacher, the very first and deepest presence there is.
O far-wandering mind, rest your thoughts on the deepest, truest presence there is.
The Rahao — the one repeated line the whole song circles back to. Man karhalaa satgur purakh dhi-aa-ay — "O camel-mind, meditate on the satgur purakh, the true teacher, the Primal Being." Purakh here is the original, foundational presence — the still point the wandering camel is asked to keep returning to. Every verse that follows begins by calling this same wandering mind by an ever-more-tender name and pointing it back here.
A Question to Sit With
What is one steady thing you can bring your wandering thoughts back to, again and again?
