You Can't Be Left Behind by a Love Everywhere

ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
binsat naahee chhod na jaa-ay.
He shall never perish, and He shall never abandon me.
ਜਹ ਪੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
jah paykhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ay. ||2||
Wherever I look, there I see Him pervading and permeating. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This One never fades and never walks away.

Wherever I look, there it is. It fills all things. It is here already.

You cannot be left behind by a love that is already everywhere you look.
The deeper layer

You cannot be left behind by a love that is everywhere.

Binsat naahee chhod na jaa-ay — He never perishes, and He never leaves. Then the second line opens the eyes. Jah paykhaa tah rahi-aa samaa-ay — wherever I look, there He is, filling everything. This is seeing Ik Onkar, the One in all.

These two together answer the fear of being left alone. What never ends cannot fade away. What is everywhere cannot walk off. It is like the air around you: you can never step out of a room and leave it behind.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you look when you want to feel that you're not alone?
