ਜਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਹ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
jah satgur tah satsangat banaa-ee.
Where the True Guru is - there is the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation.
ਜਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥
jah satgur sehjay har gun gaa-ee.
Where the True Guru is - there, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are intuitively sung.
ਜਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਹਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥੨॥
jah satgur tahaa ha-umai sabad jalaa-ee. ||2||
Where the True Guru is - there egotism is burnt away, through the Word of the Shabad. ||2||

Wherever the true teacher is, there is the true gathering. There the One's praises rise up naturally. There the ego is burned clean away by the Word.
Wherever the true teacher is, there is true company -- and there the ego burns away.
A core Sat Sangat verse: the Sangat is defined by the presence of the Guru -- it is wherever the teacher is. There three things happen naturally: true company, spontaneous praise, and the burning of ego. The gathering is where the ego dissolves.
