Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The soul delights in the love of its Beloved, colored by that love night and day as it reflects on the Word. Reflecting on the Word, it quiets the ego and, just like this, meets the One it loves. It becomes forever glad, forever colored by the True Name of the Beloved. Staying close to our teaching, we take in the nectar and quietly set aside our habit of being pulled two ways. And so the soul finds its Beloved, and all its aches are forgotten.
Stanza ||2||. Rang maanay ... naal pi-aaray — delighting in the Beloved's love. Ha-umai maaray — the ego is quieted (not "killed" harshly — subdued). Amrit gahee-ai — grasping the nectar. Dubidhaa maar nivaaray — "double-mindedness" (being pulled two ways) set aside. Saglay dookh visaaray — all pains forgotten. The reflective Word-practice dissolves both ego and aches.
What is an ache or worry that fades when you focus on something you love?
