O Enchanter, Your words are like nothing else, and Your ways are wondrous and free. You hold to the One, and see everything else as passing.
You cherish the One beyond all describing, whose power holds up everything that is. Through the word of the teaching, the very heart of the Original One is won.
You Yourself move and You Yourself stay still; You Yourself uphold the whole of creation.
Please keep me safe — all who serve turn to You for shelter.
This pauri praises the ways of Mohan — chaal niraalee, a manner "utterly unique," unbound by the world's usual patterns. The theological heart is maaneh ta ayk — "you hold to the One" — the recognition that beneath all appearances there is a single reality; everything else is raalee, dust, passing. The great aap... aap... aap refrain — "You Yourself move, You Yourself stand still, You Yourself uphold all" — is the oneness expressed as living paradox: the One is both the stillness and the motion of everything. The closing paij raakho... saran tumaaree-aa is the soul's request for shelter, tender rather than fearful: all who serve simply lean into the One's protection.
What is one thing in your life that stays steady no matter how much else changes around you?
