**L** — there is nothing and no one to set beside the One as its equal. It alone is, and there will never be another.
It always was, it is now, and it always will be. No one has ever reached its far edge. It fills the tiniest ant and the largest elephant alike — the same One, all the way through. It shows itself openly, and it knows every single place.
And the one the One fills with its own sweetness — that person, facing the teaching, keeps it warmly and joyfully in mind.
The letter Lala (L) again, now in a Pauri of the One's aloneness and all-pervading presence. Taa kai lavai na ko-oo — nothing stands beside it as an equal; aykeh aap avar nah ho-oo — it alone is. Then comes the gorgeous image of scale: keet hasat meh poor samaanay — the One fills "the ant and the elephant" equally, completely present in the smallest creature and the largest. There is no gradation of divine presence; the whole One is fully in the tiny as in the vast. This is the oneness teaching made vivid — you don't get "more" One in a big holy thing and "less" in a small ordinary one. And pargat purakh — the One shows itself openly, "known everywhere." The reward for the one graced with har ras (the One's sweetness) is simply to keep it joyfully in mind, as a Gurmukh.
If the same wholeness fills the smallest and the largest thing equally, what "small" thing might you look at differently?
