In plain words

Don't hold anger against others — turn the gentle, honest gaze on your own self instead.

Nanak says: move through the world with humility, and a grace that is always here carries you across. Softness is what lets you pass through.

Instead of holding anger at others, turn a gentle, honest gaze on yourself — and let humility be what carries you through.
The deeper layer

Look within instead of holding anger, and grace carries the humble across.

Ros na kaahoo sang karahu — don't be angry with anyone — aapan aap beechaar, look within instead. Ho-ay nimaanaa jag rahhu — live humbly in the world — nadree paar, by grace you are carried across. The nadar, the glance of grace, is a grace that is always here, received as a gift. The practice turns inward: examine yourself and stay gentle. The "Rarra" Pauri follows, on humility as the dust of all.

A Question to Sit With

Next time you're upset with someone, what might change if you first asked, "What's my own part in this?"
