The Uncountable One Lives Inside Every Heart

pa-orhee.
Pauree:
too kartaa sabh kichh jaandaa jo jee-aa andar vartai.
You, O Creator, know everything which occurs within our beings.
too kartaa aap agnat hai sabh jag vich gantai.
You Yourself, O Creator, are incalculable, while the entire world is within the realm of calculation.
sabh keetaa tayraa varatdaa sabh tayree bantai.
Everything happens according to Your Will; You created all.
too ghat ghat ik varatdaa sach saahib chaltai.
You are the One, pervading in each and every heart; O True Lord and Master, this is Your play.
satgur no milay so har milay naahee kisai partai. ||24||
One who meets the True Guru meets the Lord; no one can turn him away. ||24||

In plain words

You, the Maker, know everything that stirs inside every being.

You Yourself are beyond all counting, while the whole world can be counted.

Everything moves by Your doing; everything is shaped by You.

You are the one Presence within every single heart, O true One — this is Your wondrous play.

Whoever meets the teaching meets the One, and no one can turn them away.

The One who cannot be counted lives inside every heart that can — the whole wondrous world is the One at play.
The deeper layer

A Pauri of the Fourth Mehl of wide-open wonder at the One's presence. Its central paradox is exquisite: the Maker "is beyond all counting" (agnat), while everything made "can be counted" — the infinite one holding the countable many. The word chaltai — "wondrous play" — frames creation not as a burden or a test but as the One's own joyful unfolding, present ghat ghat ("in every single heart"). The verse closes with quiet assurance: whoever meets the teaching meets the One, and "no one can turn them away" — the doorway, once found, cannot be shut.

A Question to Sit With

What feels too big to ever measure or count? And can you imagine that same vastness living quietly inside you?
