Those the True One keeps are the ones who rise above the world's pull; they are held safe.
Just seeing the faces of people who have tasted the sweetness of the One makes life feel more alive.
In the company of those who love the truth, the grip of craving, anger, greed, and clinging loosens and burns away.
By grace, the One reaches in and truly knows each heart.
The way this all unfolds is a wonder no one can fully trace or explain.
The Pauri names four inner forces — kaam, kroDh, lobh, moh (craving, anger, greed, attachment) — often called the thieves of the mind. Notice how they are dealt with: not by grim willpower, but sang saaDhaa — simply by the company you keep. In the presence of people rooted in truth, these forces quietly lose their fuel. The line muhi dithai... jeevee-ai — "we live just by seeing their faces" — is one of Gurbani's tender claims that good company is itself nourishment. The closing note is humility before mystery: chalat na jaapnee — the divine "play" can't be fully figured out. Grace is not a formula you solve; it is a wonder you notice.
Who are the people whose company makes it easier for you to be your better self? What is it about them?
