The Only Honor Worth Chasing Is Inner Peace

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਪਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
kaho kabeer pat har parvaan.
Says Kabir, honor is that which is accepted by the Lord.
ਸਰਬ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਜੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੩॥
sarab ti-aag bhaj kayval raam. ||4||3||
Give up everything - meditate, vibrate upon the Lord alone. ||4||3||

In plain words

True honor is simply this: being accepted by the One. So let go of chasing everyone else's approval, and keep the One in your heart. That is the only reputation that lasts.

The only honor worth chasing is being at peace with the deepest reality; the rest takes care of itself.
The deeper layer

The close names the standard: pat har parvaan — "honor is what the Lord accepts." Kabir replaces the whole ranking system with a single relationship. Sarab tiaag bhaj kayval raam — "give up all else, remember only the One" — is not world-denial but priority: when the deepest belonging is settled, the scramble for status falls away on its own.

A Question to Sit With

Whose approval do you find yourself wanting most — and is it the approval that would actually make you feel at peace?
