aap pachhaanai man nirmal ho-ay.
Those who recognize the self - their minds become pure.
jeevan mukat har paavai so-ay.
They become Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive, and they find the Lord.
har gun gaavai mat ootam ho-ay.
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the intellect becomes pure and sublime,
sehjay sahj samaavai so-ay. ||2||
and they are easily and intuitively absorbed in the Lord. ||2||

Those who truly know their own self grow clean inside. They become free while still alive, and they find the One. Singing the One's praises, the mind turns clear and fine, and they melt naturally into the One.
Know your own self, and you can be free while you are still alive.
A key verse: jivan-mukta -- liberated while alive. Self-knowledge purifies (self-knowledge is wisdom), and the living-liberated find the One now, not after death. Absorption is effortless.
A Question to Sit With
What would "being free while fully alive" look like for you?
