Some Mysteries Are Meant to Be Rested In, With Love

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਬਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
kaho kabeer liv laag rahee hai jahaa basay din raatee.
Says Kabir, I have lovingly focused my attention on that place where the Lord dwells, day and night.
u-aa kaa maram ohee par jaanai oh ta-o sadaa abhinaasee. ||4||1||52||
Only He Himself truly knows the secrets of His mystery; He is eternal and indestructible. ||4||1||52||

In plain words

Kabir says: my love has come to rest, quietly and completely, right where the One always dwells — day and night, without a break.

The full depth of that mystery is known only by the One who lives it — the One who never fades and never ends.

Some mysteries are not meant to be solved but to be rested in, with love.
The deeper layer

Some mysteries aren't meant to be solved, just rested in with love.

The song ends by answering its own searching. Kaho kabeer liv laag rahee hai — says Kabir, my liv has come to rest. Liv means loving attention, the heart's steady focus. It rests jahaa basay din raatee, where the One lives day and night.

The honest puzzle from the pause line now finds its rest. U-aa kaa maram ohee par jaanai — only the One knows the full maram, the secret of that mystery. Oh ta-o sadaa abhinaasee — that One never ends and never fades.

Think of lying on the grass looking at the stars. You don't need to count them or explain them to love them.

Not every mystery has to be solved. Some are meant to be lived in, with love.

A Question to Sit With

Is there a wonder in your life you are content simply to love, even without fully explaining it?
