Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My Beloved lives in this world and the next both. Tell me, how can I find him? The pure One is unseen -- and yet it is the One that joins us to itself.

The Beloved is in both worlds yet unseen -- and it is the One who does the finding.
The deeper layer

The Rahao: the Beloved is on both shores (cf. the animal-forms shabad) yet unseen. The question "how can He be found?" is answered not by a technique but by grace: He unites us with Himself. The seeking soul cannot reach the unseen by effort; the unseen does the joining.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever stopped striving for something and found it came to you?
