In just the same way, the Lord's humble servants gather the wealth of the Lord's Name; they take the Lord's Name as their supplies. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Shopkeepers sit in their shops gathering what is really poison; their love is fake, their displays are fake, and they are lost in what is false. In just that way -- but opposite -- the One's servants gather the wealth of the Name and pack it as their provisions.
The world stocks poison dressed as wealth; the devotee packs the Name for the journey.
The world's trade is poison and falsehood -- false love, false display (Maya). The devotee's contrasting "stock" is the Name, carried as travel-supplies for the journey (cf. the Name as what goes with you). What you stock is what you become.
A Question to Sit With
What are you "stocking up" on for the long road of life?
