The Teacher Reunites the Long-Separated Soul

Within my conscious mind is the constant longing for the Lord. How can I behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, Lord?

jin pareet laa-ee so jaantaa hamrai man chit har bahut pi-aaraa.
One who loves the Lord knows this; the Lord is very dear to my conscious mind.

I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has re-united me with my Creator Lord; I was separated from Him for such a long time! ||1||

In plain words

Deep in my mind is a constant ache for the One. How can I see you? Only someone who loves the One understands this. I would give anything for my teacher, who joined me back to my Maker after I had been separated for so very long.

The teacher reunites the soul with the One it was long separated from.
The deeper layer

Pure viraha (longing): the constant ache for darshan, understood only by one who loves. The Guru reunites the long-separated soul with its source -- the bridal reunion. The long separation is traditionally read as this whole wandering existence.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever been reunited with someone after a long time apart? What did it feel like?
