Meet the Teacher and Trade at No Loss

har bhagat darirh-aavai har bhagat sunai tis satgur milee-ai.
Those who meet the True Guru implant devotional worship to the Lord, and listen to this devotional worship of the Lord.
totaa mool na aavee har laabh nit darirhee-ai. ||3||
They never suffer any loss; they continually earn the profit of the Lord. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Those who meet the true teacher plant devotion in their hearts and listen to it deepening. They never take a loss; they keep earning the One's profit.

Those who meet the teacher are in a trade that never takes a loss.
The deeper layer

The merchant image again: those who meet the Guru never suffer loss and continually earn the profit of the One -- a trade with no downside. Devotion is planted and listened to, a living, growing thing.

A Question to Sit With

What is something good you could "plant" now that would keep growing?
