Those who are not in love with the Lord are foolish and false - they are faithless cynics.

They suffer the most extreme agonies of birth and death; they die over and over again, and they rot away in manure. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Those who do not love the One are foolish and false, with no faith. They suffer the worst pains of being born and dying again and again, and they rot away.
A life with no love of the One is caught in an aching, repeating emptiness.
The dark mirror, in strong language: the loveless are self-facing -- false, faithless -- and suffer the cycle. The harsh imagery is the bleakness of a life with no love of the One. Note this is the orientation of lovelessness, not a fixed condemnation of persons.
A Question to Sit With
What is the difference between a life with love at its center and one without?
