In plain words

The little village of my body was overflowing with craving and anger -- until I met the holy one, and they were smashed to bits. By destiny I met the teacher, and entered the country of the One's love.

Meeting the holy one shatters the craving and anger that fill us.
The deeper layer

The body-village (cf. the singing village of the body) full of desire and anger -- broken on meeting the Saint. The verse names these two, which the tradition counts among the five passions; they are not fought but shattered by the encounter (cf. the poison-jar). Entry into the realm of Love by destiny (grace).

A Question to Sit With

Has meeting the right person ever broken a pattern you could not break alone?
