By His Grace, He leads us to merge with Him. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

The real giver of peace is the one who helps you keep the Name alive in your heart.

And with kindness, that one draws you close, until you feel joined to the very source of it all.

The greatest gift someone can give you is help holding onto what matters most.
The deeper layer

This one says the greatest gift is help remembering the One.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. so sukh-daata je naam japaavai — the real giver of peace is the one who helps us repeat the Name. Japaavai means helps you say it and keep saying it.

Real peace does not come from getting things. It comes from being helped to hold on to the One.

Think of a coach who stays after practice to help you. You do the running. Their help is what makes it happen.

Then: kar kirpaa tis sang milaavai — with grace, the Giver joins us with the One. Kirpaa means grace, kindness we did not earn. Remembering is a gift someone helps us receive. It is warm, never a demand.

A Question to Sit With

Who helps you stay connected to what's most important to you — and how?
