Steal Nothing But A Life Free Of Envy

In plain words

And the only 'thief' worth admiring is the one who has stolen away from envy completely.

That one turns every sense toward the One's Name.

Whoever lives like that — I see in them something blessed and beautiful and wise, and I learn from them.

Steal yourself away from envy, turn your senses to the One, and you become truly beautiful.
The deeper layer

Kabir ends with one last flip, this time of the word "thief."

Taskar so-ay je taat na karai — the true taskar, or thief, is the one who feels no taat, no envy. Indree kai jatan naam uchrai — he uses his senses to speak the Name. So this "thief" has stolen himself away from envy.

Kaho kabeer ham aisay lakhan — says Kabir, these are the signs I look for. Dhan gurdayv at roop bichkhan — blessed is such a gurdayv, a divine teacher, most beautiful and wise. Think of a friend who is truly glad when you win. That kind of heart is rare and beautiful. The whole song has turned the world's ranking upside down. The words people used to look down on others now name what is holy.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to 'steal yourself away' from jealousy of others?
