Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Even someone whose heart had grown hard, even someone the world had frozen out, could be turned toward the light.
Held in mind, the One steadied those in danger and softened what had gone to stone.
Grace can soften even what has hardened to stone.
More figures from the old stories — one protected in her hour of need, and one long turned to stone who was restored. The verse's harsher images are carried gently as a heart grown hard that grace could still reach; the point Namdev presses is the sheer range of that reach. These were cultural touchstones his listeners knew; the translation keeps the mercy and lets the violence fall away.
